How do we know that we are ready for meditation? I have been meditating since I was 14 years old. Was it something that I chased or desired? Or did it chase me? When we want to go into meditation, it is not a method of escape from our daily trials and tribulations. Many feel that they are stressed and If they meditate it will all go away like magic. One meditates to see all that is hidden inside of ourselves. If they are looking for peace, joy, love, then they will be attracted to meditation. This should not be forced onto individuals where they have to do it but still don't understand the inner meaning. Ok, so you downloaded an App to meditate, but if you cannot see or feel the reason then you will discontinue the program. If the individual seeks for more answers in life, then the person can consider to begin meditating.
There are many teachings on how you should approach mediation, one in particular which I admire for beginners is the simplicity, sincerity and purity technique. It is said that the simplicity grants you the peace of mind. Sincerity makes you feel that you are one with an eminence of energy and that it is constantly for you. Purity is a growing sensation in your heart where the energy is growing, glowing and fulfilling itself. Surety makes you feel that meditation is the right thing to do.
What you can do is to sit down in a calm area and relax. Breathe in a deeply about 7 times. After you have done that, in your mind repeat the word "simplicity" inside your mind silently ten times while concentrating on the top of your head. After this is done, repeat the word "sincerity" ten times silently and concentrate on your heart. When this is done, you repeat the word "purity" ten times while concentrating around the stomach area. Put emotion into the words when you say them in your mind. You can call it soulful words. Now you can focus slightly on the center right above the eyebrows and repeat the word "surety" ten times.
When this is done, you can place your hand on your head and repeat " I am simple" three times. Then you put your hand on your heart and repeat " I am sincere" three times. Next you put your hand on your stomach and repeat " I am pure" three times. Finally, you put your hand right above the center of the eyebrows and repeat " I am sure". This excellent technique can be used on a daily basis for beginners. When you feel that it is time to move onward, you can learn another technique, but for now have fun on the beginning of a new path.
